Iminodisuccinic Acid Relieved Cadmium Stress in Rapeseed Leaf by Affecting Cadmium Distribution and Cadmium Chelation with Pectin

چکیده

Rapeseed (Brassica napus L.) is a nutritious vegetable, while cadmium (Cd) pollution threatens the growth, productivity, and food security of rapeseed. By studying effects iminodisuccinic acid (IDS), an easily biodegradable environmental friendly chelating agent, on Cd distribution at organ cellular level, we found IDS promoted dry matter accumulation rapeseed increased contents photosynthetic pigment in leaves. Inhibited root-shoot transport resulted higher activity antioxidant enzymes decreased hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) malondialdehyde (MDA) leaves, which indicated that contributed to alleviating Cd-caused oxidative damage leaf cells. Additionally, subcellular cell wall (CW), especially covalently bound pectin (CSP), relieved toxicity organelle also enhanced demethylation CSP. The content CSP, degree, methylesterase CSP by 37.95%, 13.34%, 13.16%, respectively, did not change different CW components. improved fixation was mainly attributed enhance (CSP) chelation with

Chelation of cadmium.

The toxicity of cadmium is determined by chelation reactions: in vivo, Cd2+ exists exclusively in coordination complexes with biological ligands, or with administered chelating agents. The Cd2+ ion has some soft character, but it is not a typical soft ion. It has a high degree of polarizability, and its complexes with soft ligands have predominantly covalent bond characteristics. Cd2+ forms the...

Chelation of cadmium without increased renal cadmium deposition.

Cadmium (Cd) is mainly accumulated in liver and kidney bound to metallothionein (MT) and excreted very slowly from the body. In chronic exposure, Cd is gradually transported from liver to kidney; the renal toxic effects appear when renal Cd concentration exceeds the critical concentration. In order to prevent the Cd-induced renal disease, it is important to control the movement of Cd to the kid...

Effect of glutathione on the cadmium chelation of EDTA in a patient with cadmium intoxication.

In order to evaluate the efficiency and renal protective effects of glutathione during Ca(++)-EDTA chelation therapy for chronic cadmium intoxication, we measured the renal excretion of cadmium, β(2)-microglobulin, proteinuria, and hematuria during intravenous administration of glutathione with Ca(++)-EDTA in a 54-year-old patient with chronic cadmium intoxication. We administered 500 mg of Ca(...

Cadmium and Cadmium Compounds

Synonyms, trade names and molecular formulae for cadmium, cadmium–copper alloy, and some cadmium compounds are presented in Table 1.1. The cadmium compounds shown are those for which data on carcinogenicity or mutagenicity were available or which are commercially important compounds. It is not an exhaustive list, and does not necessarily include all of the most commercially important cadmium-co...
